Grupo Siro Foundation

The desire and determination of Juan Manuel González Serna and Lucía Urbán López to create an entity with the necessary autonomy and power to oversee a group of companies was realised when the Grupo Siro Foundation was set up in 2007.

Juan Manuel González Serna, Chairman, and Lucía Urbán López, Vice-chair, are responsible for making sure that the founding principles continue to act as a reference for the Foundation’s day-to-day operations.

Cerealto Siro Foods is a family business and dreams of its legacy lasting more than 500 years.

That’s why its owners have decided to hand down their company to the Grupo Siro Foundation.

The foundation will therefore become the next owner of the company and already holds a 5% stake in the group.

About the Grupo Siro Foundation

The purpose of this Foundation is focused on combating malnutrition around the world by intellectually and economically promoting and encouraging ideas and projects that impact our environment with a circular economy for sustainable and inclusive growth.

The Foundation is currently working on the key areas listed below:

Nutrition and Wellbeing

We combat malnutrition around the world, whether caused by excess or insufficiency, by developing food products that enable us to meet the dietary needs of vulnerable communities.

We promote partnerships with associations, NGOs, private enterprise and/or public authorities that enable us to reach more people in more places.

SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF PEOPLE AT RISK OF EXCLUSION

We encourage the social and occupational integration of groups at risk of exclusion and who have difficulty accessing employment.

This includes setting up Special Employment Centres or creating agreements with associations that support labour market integration, such as the ONCE Foundation, as well as supporting paralympic athletes via the Spanish Olympic Committee.

The Foundation’s headquarters are located in an old and carefully restored Premonstratensian Monastery in Castile and León (Spain).
