The Grupo Siro Foundation has collaborated with Normon, a Spanish laboratory with more than 80 years of experience and a remarkable social commitment, for the donation of 117,000 kg of food that will be destined to the Food Banks all over Spain to fight against the coronavirus crisis.
Specifically, the Siro Group Foundation has managed the sale, at cost price, of 80,000 kilos of food products from Cerealto Siro Foods to Normon for this donation.
A significant part of this donation has been made through the Grupo Siro Foundation, which aims to promote the social integration of vulnerable groups among its foundational purposes, and which has made available to Normon Laboratories 80,000 kilos of products at cost price manufactured by Cerealto Siro Foods, a company of its property, a gesture that has been greatly appreciated by the laboratory.
The Grupo Siro Foundation has been collaborating with Food Banks on an ongoing basis since its inception in those locations where it has a presence. In 2019 alone, the Foundation donated 10,000 kilos to Food Banks in Palencia, Burgos, Valladolid and Jaen.
The Food Banks, which attend to more than 1,200,000 needy people in Spain, are being severely punished by this pandemic, since the coronavirus crisis has aggravated the needs and shortages of the most disadvantaged and has left many families in a situation of distress.
Normon will provide a total of 117,000 kg of food, most of which will be sent to FESBAL, the Spanish Federation of Food Banks. This federation groups 55 banks, at least one in each province, and will be responsible for ensuring that the food aid reaches the whole of Spain. Another part will be sent directly to the food bank in Madrid, the region where the laboratory is based, as well as to those in Andalusia and Castilla la Mancha, the autonomous regions where the company’s founders originated and to which Normon is particularly committed.
